Cargo Bars for Load Stabilization
Cargo Bars are known around the professional trucking industry as one of the best methods to ensure that pallets, stacked boxes, and other top-heavy cargo do not tip over while going down the road. Load bars are designed to hold cargo in place from the front to the rear of the trailer.
Cargo that tips over while going down the road poses a great danger to professionals when unloading the trailer and opening the dock doors as tipped-over cargo can fall out of the rear of the trailer. This can cause cargo to fall out of the rear of the trailer and become damaged or even cause injury to the driver and others nearby.
Some of the most popular types of cargo bars include Load Lock Bars, Decking E Track Shoring Beams, Pickup Truck Cargo Bars, Jack Load Bars, and Hoop Load Bars. While the overall purpose is the same between these cargo bars, they are designed for varying setups ranging from pickup truck beds, moving vans, or dry van trailers.
How Cargo Bars Can Help Consumers and Professional Drivers
Once cargo bars are locked in place they are designed to help keep your cargo secured, utilize the most out of your available space, and help prevent injuries or expensive insurance claims. Making the most out of the available space can result in fewer trips, which otherwise would require more fuel which can quickly add up.
Load stabilizing can help prevent cargo from shifting, coming out of place, or even tipping over while on the road which can quickly cause damage to the cargo. While on the road a sudden lane change, hard brake, or rapid acceleration is often all it takes to cause stacked boxes, pallets, or other top-heavy cargo to tip over cause damage, and pose a threat of injury when unloading.
Cargo bars are commonly made out of heavy-duty steel or aluminum construction which helps to provide great strength and durability to hold your cargo in place safely. Depending on the cargo bar you select it may have non-slip rubber feet or hardware designed specifically to latch into e-track rail systems. While cargo bars are commonly made for dry van trailers or moving vans we also have a lineup designed specifically for your full-size or compact pickup truck beds.

Adjustable Load Lock Cargo Bars
Load Lock Bars are commonly used inside dry van trailers and moving vans to ensure the cargo arrives at the next destination free of damage and to prevent dock workers or the driver from becoming injured. Lock Lock Bars are made from standard-duty or heavy-duty steel construction with rubber non-slip 2×4 or 4×4 feet.
The rubber feet at the end of the load lock bars provide excellent grip against the interior walls of the trailer or moving van to hold the cargo in place and prevent the cargo from tipping over. The non-slip grip also helps to prevent the load bars from coming unsecured when hitting bumps, hard brakes, or sharp cornering.
Load Lock Bars are manufactured with an adjustable length that expands outwards to be held in place. The adjustable cargo bars also can help when moving from trailer to trailer. The main difference between standard-duty and heavy-duty load lock bars is the heavy-duty option is approximately 30 percent thicker than the tube of the standard load lock bars.
For those interested we also have both single hoop or double hoop load bars that provide a larger surface area to hold the cargo safely in place. As well as welded or bolt-on hoop kit construction depending on if you are looking for a more permanent or temporary load lock bar.
Trucking Depot offers a wide selection of load lock bars that are readily available and in stock for next-day shipping. We also have custom fabrication services to help you create load lock bars in the exact length you need for the width of your trailer. If a part of your bar becomes damaged over time we also have a selection of replacement cargo bar parts to swap with at a fraction of the cost of buying new.

Adjustable E Track Decking/Shoring Beams
E Track Beams can also be known around the professional trucking industry as E Track Decking/Shoring Beams and are commonly used to create decks inside the enclosed trailer. E Track Shoring Bars latch into e-track rails that are installed along the walls or flooring of the trailer and can be run in rows to form layers or rows of protection.
E Track Shoring Beams are adjustable and come in either a standard or heavy-duty option depending on the cargo weight you are anticipating holding in place. We also offer a variety of adjustments and sizes to accommodate the specifications of different dry van trailer manufacturers. Before purchasing any e-track beams or other cargo bars you should always measure the inside of your enclosed trailer, moving van, or dry van to ensure you order the correct size.
One of the major benefits of creating rows of shoring bars is heavier cargo can benefit from the added weight distribution as well if a bar were to come undone it could remain secured in place until you can reinstall it. It also creates additional safety when the drive dock worker opens the dock doors which otherwise could have boxes, pallets, or other heavy cargo tipping over and out of the rear of the trailer toward them causing damage to the cargo or injuries.
E Track Rail Systems are installed directly to the walls or flooring which helps you utilize the strength of the dry van trailer, moving van, or enclosed trailer to keep your cargo secured and add load stabilization. If you have any questions, need a quote, or need a shoring bar made to the width of your trailer we would be happy to assist you further and can be reached at 800-444-0956 or by using our Contact Us page at the top of the website if you prefer communications via email.
Pickup Truck Bed Cargo Bars
Pickup Truck Cargo Bars use the same overall design as our traditional cargo bars but are designed to fit in compact or full-size pickup truck beds. Once installed these cargo bars can act as a divider, hold cargo in place, or be used to organize your pickup truck bed. Available in our standard-duty or heavy-duty pickup truck cargo bar options depending on the strength you are looking for.
The pickup truck cargo bar includes 2×4 or 4×4 non-slip rubber feet which help to hold the cargo bar in place and prevent falling out of place while going over bumps. Our cargo bar uses a strong metal tubing construction to add extra durability and strength and is adjustable to fit most average-size pickup truck beds.
Cargo Bar Type | Cargo Bar Adjustment Size |
---|---|
Heavy Duty Square Pickup Truck Bar | 46 inches to 74 inches |
Standard Pickup Truck Bar – Compact Pickup Truck Beds | 50 inches to 65 inches |
Standard Pickup Truck Bar – Full Size Pickup Truck Beds | 59 inches to 73 inches |
Jack Load Lock Bars
Jack Load Bars is an alternative style of cargo bars that use a jack mechanism to expand the bars outward applying pressure to hold the jack bars in place. The jack mechanism works similarly to old car jacks by “pumping” the handle to expand and apply outward pressure to the walls of the enclosed trailer or moving van. Once secured this helps to prevent cargo from sliding, tipping over, and utilizing the available trailer space.
Jack Bars are available with optional bolt-on-feet, welded feet, with or without hoops, round or square tubing, and either a one or two-piece construction depending on what fits your cargo control needs best. The two-piece construction makes it easier to break down the jack bar for easy storage and to help prevent theft while not in use.

Bolt-on and Welded Hoop Load Bars
Hoop Load Bars are commonly used to make the surface area of your cargo bars larger for cargo applications that may require it to stay in place or to prevent the cargo from tipping over. Hoops can be installed with our bolt-on construction for those who may want to remove them for easier storage or a welded more permanent construction.
Hoop Load Bars are ideal for boxes stacked on top of pallets or skids to help evenly distribute the weight of the cargo. This helps to eliminate the need for extra cargo bars around the same securement location and helps save you time. We often suggest our customers view our bolt-on hoop load bars due to less expensive shipping rates and easy storage in between use.
If you have any questions, need a quote, or are interested in further information call us today at 800-444-0956.We are happy to help you further and find the perfect cargo bar to meet your load stabilization needs.
WARNING: Cargo bars do not have load ratings due to the varying conditions of trailer sidewalls. Ratings that are on the aluminum beams and steel beams are based on and tested at an evenly distributed weight.
