Cambuckle Hardware

Cambuckle hardware is commonly used to manufacture cam buckle straps for cargo control applications. Cam buckles are sometimes called buckle straps as they are a great alternative to ratchet hardware. Ratchet hardware is commonly used to manufacture ratchet straps. Ratchet straps are used to secure cargo in pickup truck beds, utility trailers, or even by professionals on flatbed trailers.

The main difference between cam buckles and ratchet hardware is how each is tightened. Cam buckle straps are tightened by pulling excess webbing and using hand strength to secure the cargo. One of the major benefits of using hand strength to tighten cargo is a reduced chance of causing overtightening damage which can damage sensitive or fragile cargo such as antiques by using alternative securement methods such as ratchet straps.

Cam buckle hardware is available in 1-inch or 2-inch sizes, depending on cargo weight and user preference. The 1-inch cam buckle has a 1,500 lb breaking strength and a 500 lb working load limit. The 2-inch cam buckle offers a 3,000 lb breaking strength and a 1,000 lb working load limit. Professionals like movers and dry van operators typically use the 2-inch option.

A few of the different styles of buckle hardware that we stock include zinc finish coating or a black finish. Both styles protect against corrosion and rust and help make your metal hardware last longer. The black cam buckle hardware works great for sound and stage productions and outdoor hunting applications with a stealthy design.

Our cam buckle hardware is the same hardware used to assemble our cam buckle straps in-house. Cam buckle hardware can be paired with our tie-down webbing and tie-down hardware to make it custom-made to order. We also sell our hardware as replacements for hardware damaged from repetitive use or for those looking to purchase for creating their own straps.

Warning WARNING: Do not ever exceed the working load limit of any piece of hardware at any time. The working load limit of a product can be reduced if the product is damaged. Before using tie-down straps you should always quickly inspect before and after every use for any defects, discoloration, burn marks, or cuts in tie-down webbing to prevent your cargo from becoming damaged or unsecured.
