Our 24’ x 27’ Parachute Tarp with an 8’ x 8’ drop is commonly used as a lightweight tarp on flatbed trailers. It protects the cargo underneath from moisture and road debris. The center section of this tarp is made from 18-oz PVC-coated waterproof tarpaulin that is cold crack rated to -40° C/F. A lightweight and water-resistant parachute/airbag material on the sides helps reduce the tarp’s overall weight.
Because of this combination of tarpaulin, these tarps are 40% lighter than comparable sizes made from 18-oz PVC-coated tarpaulin. This can be ideal for an aging workforce, with less strain on the driver or those who secure multiple loads per day. Comparable size tarps in 18 oz tarpaulin can weigh upwards of 120 lbs or greater compared to this tarp that weighs only 79 lbs.
This can help drivers secure tarps to the trailer quicker with easier maneuverability and less weight which allows drivers to carry up to 2 tarps which helps save time. You will need two parachute tarps for complete coverage of your 53-foot flatbed trailer.
