Our 16’ x 27’ Ripstop Flatbed Tarp with an 8’ x 4’ Drop is made with a 15 oz center section and 11.2 oz sidewalls. The main benefit of using Ripstop is the tear resistance, which helps prevent cuts from traveling the entire length of the flatbed tarp and helps make the tarp repairable. Ripstop helps prevent the need to purchase an entirely new flatbed tarp if it becomes torn.

Despite the Ripstop fabric being 15 oz in the middle of the tarp and 11.2 oz along the sides, it is comparable to 18 oz heavy-duty PVC material in terms of protection and durability. Ripstop flatbed tarps are much lighter than traditional lumber tarps making maneuvering them around your cargo and installing them to the flatbed trailer a breeze.

This tarp weighs 65 lbs whereas alternative lumber tarps in similar sizes may weigh upwards of 90 lbs per tarp. Ripstop is also waterproof and protects against rain, snow, ice, strong winds, moisture, mold, mildew, and direct sunlight.
